Why the 'Twilight' TV Show Will Likely Be Better Than the 'Harry Potter' TV Show

In the age of IP, studios are stuck when it comes to 2000s and 2010s hits that finished adapting their source material. If you have a Hunger Games where the author puts out new books, then you’re on better footing. Otherwise, it’s too soon to reboot, especially when you have successful movies that already have devoted fans. However, there is the fresh territory of television. Until recently, no one would think of doing expensive adaptations of a series of novels on television, but that’s one of the ways Game of Thrones changed things, so now studios can say, “Well, maybe it’s time to put this previously-adapted book series on television.”
Two of the biggest box office successes of the 2000s and 2010s are now making their way to television. HBO is developing a Harry Potter TV series and Lionsgate is working on a Twilight TV series that will run on Netflix. Based on yesterday’s news regarding the Twilight series, the new adaptation of the vampire books is in a far better position than what Warner Bros. Discovery wants to do with The Boy Who Lived.
