Feige's last big surprise is Fantastic Four and nailing that casting will be the key to generating another round of exciting storytelling. If he whiffs on that, all bets are off because the excitement dip of Phase 4 is definitely not something he can scoff away.

Was just thinking the other day how depressing it is to be in the death spiral of these movies and it’s still considered the bread and butter of movie sites. Most of them have stopped covering indie movies or anything that doesn’t move the needle like DC and Marvel. But like you said, Marvel is starting to stagnate. It’s not one movie tanking, it’s eight or nine projects not getting a foothold with fans. Meanwhile DC has brought on James Gunn to gut the characters they’ve developed for a decade probably so Discovery can operate cheap then liquidate in 2 years. I can’t wait for the collapse to happen.

I’m going to give Gunn the benefit of the doubt until we see the movies. It’s not like DC movies were crushing it during the AT&T days.
