I love that included an embedded music playlist!!!

In my biased opinion, the next Game of Thrones is the new Prime series The Power. Once these girls start developing rival factions and shifting the global paradigm, no joke, the set pieces and global narratives will be everything we begged Game of Thrones to become.

Except it's set in the modern era with girls who can suddenly generate and control electricity like Storm from X-Men. Oh and hey it stars John Leguizamo as the dad character Rob created just for the show!! Just like the Infinity Saga, I founda way to bring it back to Super Mario and Luigi.

Studios put the cart before the horse when they try to start from the same positioning as a final season with their first season. There is extremely little overlap between franchise adaptations even within the same medium or platform, let alone when trying to bank off the sustained passion for a series of ancient books and now pretty old movies.

The same happened with DC. The MCU made great movies and used artistry to cultivate the perception of meaningful connections into a mind blowing pay off that felt surprising yet inevitable. But DC started off thinking the reason people showed up for The Avengers was because they'd never seen the Avengers before. Lol no. Fox tried that with several shows in the 90s and they all sucked.

The key for Marvel was always the artistry of making things seem intentional in hindsight. It's the irony of trying to recreate an accident.

There's a real magic in creating the best art you can while knowing you've eventually got to explain how it's all tied together and make that explanation a worthy payoff of so much of the audience's trust. You deliberately leave big pieces in question and lean into the poetry.

The irony is that the more controlled the MCU has become, the more it has become to feel like competent early DCEU-esque movies but otherwise no longer stunning examples of storytelling.
